In the event of winter snow warnings, and the distance some pupils have to travel to and from the Woodlands, it may be necessary to arrange early transport from school on occasions and it is VERY important that school have up-to-date contact details for parents / carers

The decision to arrange early transport is not taken lightly and is only taken when there is risk to the safety of students

As of 1st September 2015 we  re-branded as ‘The Woodlands’.

Key-stage 3 & 4 in Ferryhill are known as The Elms and The Maples, and our first Primary base, The Willows,  is at Langley Park Primary School and as of Easter 2016, our second Primary base, The Beeches, was opened at Broom Cottages Primary School.

For the second year running, the Primary Unit at The Woodland received a boost for 2014 after food company Kellogg’s awarded a grant worth £400 to help fund the Primary Breakfast Club.

These grants really help our club, a number of pupils travel a long way to school in a morning and look forward to cereal or toast before lessons start.

In aid of this years Macmillan Coffee Morning Appeal, pupils from Keystages 3 & 4 made some delicious cakes and treats and sold them to staff and pupils throughout the day.

We raised £100.00 – well done to all concerned !

Well done to staff and pupil’s who raised a fantastic £93.55 for Macmillan Cancer Support on our Wear your Xmas Jumper for work day on Friday, December 12th 2014.

As from Spring Term 2015, Primary Pupils will be offered milk, as well as juice at school during breakfast club.

Milk not only provides children with essential nutrients, but as it is rehydrating and energy boosting it also bridges the gap between the often long journeys from home to help children become focussed.

Pupils are also offered fruit each day for morning snack.
